Detlef Schrempf’s career began upon migrating from Germany to USA, he joined Centralia High School’s basketball team. He directed the team in winning the Class 3A state tournament in 1981. Upon studying in school, Shrempf played for the Washington Huskies. During his stint with all the Huskies, he directed the team in winning the Pac 10 in 1984 and 1985. He was named to the All-Pac 10 team and All-America Second Team from The Sporting News. During the 1985 NBA Draft, he was chosen by the Dallas Mavericks. After four years together with the team, Schrempf was traded to Indiana Pacers. He was the receiver of NBA Sixth Man Awards for a couple of years. Detlef Schrempf was produced on January 21, 1963 in Leverkusen, West Germany. He took up International Business at University of Washington as well as a part of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
