Jason Worilds was a two-sport athlete at the the Cartalet High School. As a linebacker and fullback, he did 87 tackles, and 12 sacks during his junior year together with the team. He earned the Associate Press All-State honors. In college, he played for the Virginia Tech Hokies. During his three seasons together with the team, Worilds played in 41 matches, with 132 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 67 quarterback hits, and 3 forced fumbles. After his junior year, he declared his intent to enter the 2010 NFL Draft. Worilds was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the second round, 52nd overall pick through the selection process. On March 10, 2015, he declared his retirement because he converted to Jehovah’s Witness.
