His picture directorial debut was The Incredible Shrinking Woman in 1981. Two movies in the 80s, St. Elmo’s FireandThe Lost Boys were directed by Schumacher. He also directed two versions of John Grisham novels: The Customer in 1994, andA Time to Kill in 1996.
