Swizz Beatz (born Kasseem Dean) is a prolific producer in the hip-hop industry. Born September 13, 1978, Dean was raised by his mother in the South Bronx, where he first encountered hip-hop. Swizz Beatz is married to acclaimed R&B singer/songwriter Alicia Keys, with whom he has one child. He also has three other children, including one with ex-wife, R&B singer-songwriter Mashonda.
Swizz began to produce tracks at age 16. A year later he sold his first beat to rapper DMX, which eventually became the major hit single “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem”.
