Wally Pfister is an American cinematographer and director. Pfister began his profession as an production assistant for WMDT TV in Salisbury, Maryland. Subsequently, he got work as a cameraman to get a Washington news service. From 1982-1985, he covered the United States Congress, the White House and breaking news. From then, he began his freelance career for the PBS show Front line. His first feature cinematography work arrived with The Unborn in 1991, which resulted in his working on a chain of horror movies. Their first collaboration was 2000 movie,Memento. He served as director of photography for a number of pictures with Nolan, including Sleeplessness in2002,Batman Begins in2005,The Prestige in2006, and The Dreary Knight in 2008. He also continues to be nominated three times for the American Society of Cinematographers Award for Exceptional Achievement in Cinematography in Theatrical Releases, for the movie Batman Begins, as well as The Dark Knight and Inception, winning for the latter in 2011.
